A note from the editor

Help us Connect the Ducts!

We interrupt this regularly scheduled Editor’s Note to ask you to support our new Indiegogo campaign to modernize and redesign Ducts.org for June 2016! Today, stories don’t really get “published” until they get “connected” from one person to another, and shared and re-shared – more than ever, you the reader, are the publisher. With your help, we can update Ducts to help our storytellers reach more people than ever in a more compelling environment. Plus, we have tax-deductible status and sweet, sweet perks. Click here to contribute now and thanks for your support!

And now here’s the Editor’s Note for our December 2015 issue!

Happy Sweet 16 to Ducts!

I feel honored to be sliding into the driver’s seat this issue, but I’d like to take a moment to thank founding editor, Jonathan Kravetz, for his labor of love – and just plain hard work – in making Ducts the home for authentic, engaging, and personal stories that it has become over the past 16 years. Ducts and I hope to make you proud, Jon, and we have a full year planned to prove it – with an upcoming web redesign, new content (hello there, graphic narrative!), and more opportunities for our readers to help emerging voices be heard!

Since I’m the new girl (step aside, Zooey Deschanel), I’m going to keep this intro short and sweet, but stay tuned for further news on how you can be part of helping us publish and expand the audience for exciting new voices. And for those of you in the New York City area, mark January 9 on your calendar, and come out to hear readings from our latest issue at the KGB Lit Bar on the Lower East Side. We’ll ring in the new year – Ducts style.

Please enjoy this issue and have a happy, merry—and above all—peaceful 2016!
