This is a great piece of writing. I especially like the last section of the piece, and that last great image of the writer standing alone waiting for the next pitch, with nobody standing behind her. I've read other essays by Christina and I'm a big fan of her work.

As always, a vivid–almost painfully realistic–piece of writing. You are an incredible storyteller, and as the reader, I almost feel overwhelmed by the intimate, real-life details of your writing. As people we could be as different as night and day, and yet, I am sucked into your shoes, and that's good writing–impressing your perspective on the reader. Well done.

Christina,

I really enjoyed reading this. Having grown up playing baseball in a small town, the picture you painted took me right back to summer nights at the park. Even though I know you, your mom and your dad, I think I would have envisioned them exactly as they are based on your writing.

Take Care,

John

Thank you for sharing. There were times I felt like I was there seeing it. Tell Mindy to keep posting your essay's on Facebook so I can keep reading.
